The Velvelettes original VIP 45's are a wonderful addition to
my vintage Motown collection and are such a treat to listen to...truly
timeless!! They have a sound that will live on in my mind forever!

I just love the Velvelettes. I bought the greatest hits collection
a while back and listen to it regularly. My favorite tune on the
disk is "That's the Reason Why." I just love the strong backing
vocals. I'm glad to see this wonderful group get a web site. I'll
be visiting often.

I've been here before, but wanted to stop in again, especially
now that I have a new webpage about the Velvs' VBO disc (the above
link leads to it). Cheers to all :-)

Hello there MISS BARBEE>...5th grade teacher at Oak School in
Flint.(a long, long time ago.....)haha I am so tickled to see
that you are still out there making a difference. You certainly
did your part to mold me into the adult I am today. If you are
wondering, that is very much a compliment. Without my 5th grade
homeroom/music class, I wouldn't be th person I am today. I learned
a lot about life in the 5th grade and you were a big part of it.
You helped me to say yes to the positive and DEAL with the negative,
and there was a lot of that. Thanks for showing me that I had
a choice. You made a dif erence.

"Searching For My Man" (F Bosley-Ty Hunter) by Dot and the Velveletts
(note spelling) Teek A-4828 coupled with "For As Long As You Want
Me" (Ty Hunter-F Bosely) by Dotty McCullum Teek A-4827. Both sides:
Music by Eugene Neal & the Rocking Kings Lots of little pointers
there for me to make me think.......good things. Where do I file
this? In my special Velvelettes collection or with "the rest".
If it goes in my Velvelettes section, there has to be a damn good
reason....so can you give me one!!!! The Boy From Crosstown

I have only just got down to here and I can't go up again. So
I better say "hello from London England" - now that's "Really

I had been checking periodically to see when this site was finished,
but had not thought about it in some months. Checking back today,
I see it's been online since the fall. It's a fine beginning and
I'll be looking in more often now that I know it's up. I became
a fan the first time I heard "Needle in a Haystack" back in middle
school (1964). Despite my vigilance, I usually ended up finding
subsequent releases in the cutout 45 bins, but at least I was
able to get them. The CD has made them available to u all now,
and is so well-mastered (unusual for Motown!). I can only imagine
what jewels must still be in those Hitsville vaults! Perhaps someday
we'll all get to hear them. In the meantime we have these. Saw
the gals on TV a couple of years ago, and, man, did they ever
look and sound great! Still together, for the most part, after
all these years, too. So rare on pop music!!

The very day that I linked your web site to our file of material
that we have indexed in the kalamazoo gazette, I had a question
about on the Velvelvettes while I was on the History Room Reference
Desk....the young lady loved the web link. Thank you, Linda Cook

Can we have some more pix of you gorgeous gals? Your CD was a
dream come true for most Motown fans. It should have happened
years ago. Thanx for your wonderful music. Let Love Live!

It's about time you have your own site!! I love your new CD!!
Just a comment: It is very difficult to read the bright red print
on bright blue background. It almost made me sick. Also, is there
any chance of you coming to Phoenix to perform?

Thanks for being one of the best vocal groups in the world. We
fans are so very grateful for your "Best of..." Thanks to John
Lester for his persistence.

I've been a Velvelettes fan since 1964 when I first heard Needle
in a Haystack on WINS in NY. It has been a great joy to hear your
new CD with the unreleased songs. I play the tape almost every
day in my car. It is like reliving the excitement of a new otown
release--only 35 years later! Your CD reveals that the Velvelettes
had so many excellent songs in the vaults and if a few of these
had been released earlier, the girl groups of Motown would have
had to have made room for another superstar group! Pl ase tell
us more about your days at Motown, the songs you recorded and
the stories behind them and please keep pushing along with your
fans for more unreleased songs to be heard in the future! Thanks
for your great sounds!

I'm glad you gals have got a website of your own now. I bought
your VBO disc a week & a half ago, & I love it. What a coincidence,
I'm hearing "Needle in a Haystack" on a Net radio show as I type
this! I love Motown in general, & the website I note abo e memorializes
Tammi Terrell. XXOO to all of you, & keep singin'!

Great job! I think I worked with your Betty Kelly at Borgess Hospital
in the early 60's. I remember she was always singing around work
and had a really great voice. Can't wait until you get the Website
finished.
