For exciting professional basketball action, take in a game at Philips Arena. Besides being the home turf of the Atlanta Hawks basketball team, this is the largest music venue in Atlanta. So, come to the arena for a variety of entertainment options. It is located on Centennial Olympic Park Drive, connected to that park. There is plenty of parking and plenty of vendors to keep your hunger and thirst satiated.
3. The Tabernacle.
Many people rave about this easy going concert venue that does not have a bad seat in the house. The balcony seats are the favorites. You can also be seated on the 2nd or 3rd level. Or, you can stand up near the stage and take in the live music. There is abundant beauty at this venue. You will like spending time at the Tabernacle. Some of the best productions are performed there, as well as jumping concerts.
4. Centennial Olympic Park.
This is the main social interaction center and family leisure venue in Atlanta. There are plenty of places to picnic and play on the lush green lawn. In the summertime there are free concerts every Wednesday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Centennial Park is also where the 4th of July fireworks and many other celebrations are held. In mid-winter there is usually an ice skating rink provided. Families and groups of friends enjoy this nice place. This is the place for just about anything social, from getting in a quiet nap and some alone time to large and fun celebrations.
5. Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint.
Take in some of the best music in Atlanta while you enjoy some of the tastiest food available. We are talking ‘Good ‘ol Southern Food,’ grilled pork chops, grits, and mashed potatoes. The music is provided by well-known groups, so there is usually a small cover charge. It is debatable which brings in more people to Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint, the great food or the fantastic music. This is an original establishment that extends the historic legacy of juke joints that have flourished in the South for generations.
